Through its communication activities, the General Directorate for Combating Counterfeiting - Italian Patent and Trademark Office works to promote comprehensive, effective information about issues relating to the promotion and protection of Intellectual Property and the fight against counterfeiting. The General Directorate for Combating Counterfeiting - Italian Patent and Trademark Office communicates through a strategy and research on consumer perceptions and its actions are targeted at different sectors, such as consumers, young people, small businesses, research institutions and both national and international organizations.

The objectives and actions are intended to promote the fight against counterfeiting, the Italian-made products, a better knowledge of and respect for Industrial Property, the innovation and creativity of the national economy, in particular small and medium enterprises and educate consumers on public tolerance for counterfeiting and privacy.
